Seafood Saturday

Beautiful day - really lovely. Wandered down into town - every church in Hastings has a posh wedding, the seafood festival was packed and brilliant - nothing beats the smell of hot butter or kippers. Really good effort this year - full of people, next year will be even more fantastic with it's purpose built arena. The whole Rock-a Nore and old town were buzzing with people spending money and enjoying themselves, so much for the doom mongers. Smalls-Murry were there giving people moustaches, I declined - I suspect they were using permanent markers.

A really nice little cafe has opened opposite the Dragon bar called the Pelican - tiny place, like an old style capucchino bar.

Went to a couple of open studio's and a craft fare at Butlers gap, and a poke about in Courthouse. Spoke to one of my contacts - he's been dealing with the auctioneers who have stripped the old art college and was invited in to see if there was anything he wanted - so he opened a cupboard and bought dozens of jars of small animals in formaldahyde and boxes of human bones from the laboratories.

On the way home - another wedding - this time the church at the bottom of my road. The wedding car was a beautiful camper van... that's the way to do it.
