Friday Night fandango

I have an ambition. I want to go to the Duckie 15th Birthday party on Friday night at the Royal Festival Hall - it's from 9.30 to 2pm, and the first train back is about 5.30 - which leaves me with a 3 hour window of opportunity.

Of course, this is all academic - I have a client who has mislaid an invoice - and emailed today that they also wiped my details from their database - so I may not actually get paid in time - and the twin terrors of house and contents and rates have left a £1000 hole in my finances..... so fingers crossed.

I need to come straight back because I can't afford to board the dogs ( about £35 ) and besides, they would insist on the dogs having their injections within the last 6 months - which would cost another £60. The train is £20, a cab back from the station is a tenner - not including drinks and everything - it's going to be an expenis9ve jaunt that will leave me pretty broke and exhausted.

Why am I bothering. well, frankly I'm sick to fucking death of not having any form of life because it's impractical / expensive / work gets in the way / the dogs won't let me etc. I really want to go - of course it's 2 hours there and back - more time traveling that in the event - but I will see some good people and I wouldn't mind feeling connected with the world again. I'll probably get over enthusiastic and drink too much so that I don't fret, and ruin it - but that's a risk worth taking.

Big question.... what to wear!
