The gale force winds and torrential deluge from last night were not quite as bad as feared - actually, it's pretty typical weather... for November. I'm covered in insect bites - probably from the dog walk - apparently creeping, biting critters are paerticularly bad this year.
I had precisely zero sleep last night, I nearly got off a couple of times but kept waking with a start troubled by bad thoughts ( rat invasions and debt ) - and was watching 'Sherlock Holmes Faces Death' at 3am - which I must say - was rather fine. I also worked out how to re-plumb the hot and cold water system in my head.
The dogs are comatose - they just go 'into the zone' when the weather is like this - although they occasionally stir - look into the garden, then demand to be taken out front - only to express surprise that the weather there is the same.
It's 8am and actually still dark - far too dark to read in my office without a light - I really think they should reserve this kind of weather or Sundays. Later today I have my first 'proper' meeting at the new college - I'm looking forward to it - although I have a fairly bad feeling it may mean messing about with the student seating, at least I should know how many students I'm teaching next year.
I'm going to see if my lucky steak continues in the egg department - I've had double yolks 3 eggs on the run and I'll see if I can have another - although I must be more careful with the oil - Olive and Cod Liver comes in the same shaped bottle, is the same colour and on the same shell.... but does NOT fry an egg the same way ( I can still smell it, shudder!)
