Worked until fairly late last night and we had a drink after work - so I missed big chunks of the Olympic Opening ceremony - but what I did see, I really liked - and enjoyed listening to Frank Cottrell Boyce talking through the process he developed on the radio this morning.
Yesterday, everyone told me I looked really nice and admired my shirt - very flashy, expensive Paul Smith number. They were all incredulous that I bought it form Oxfam for £1 - so at lunch time I went out and bought another from the BHF charity shop for £2.50, and a lovely slipcased edition of the complete Miss Marple Short stories from The Folio Society for £3..
Aside from the Olympics - yesterday was a bit sad, a close friend held the funeral of her mother, who was murdered earlier this year - it was apparently a good day and everyone got through. The whole thing has been difficult for many people and cast a very dark shadow over the whole year - and I've referred to it on here as 'The Very bad Thing' a couple of times - it's not over yet - but things are getting better.
I have to go into town and do a few things, then back to clean the house and catch up on a MASSIVE amount of work.... and think about my tax returns.
